THE PYRAMID bomber jacket... the Raf Simons holy grail, the anticipated result of my daily searches of eBay and Yahoo Auctions Japan for the past year, the most INCRED jacket ever... I must have paid about 10x the original retail price, but I have no regrets. We might need to discuss the SS03 parachute bomber on another occasion, but right now I feel like my fashion life is complete. Words cannot describe how much I needed this jacket. It's from the spring/summer 2000 collection, SUMMA CUM LAUDE, which was inspired both by Mensa students and the gabba subculture. On the runway:
The hair, it was all about the hair..

ReplyDeleteWow, I love ur shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, I am really happy for you. That must be a great feeling. About the money- just see it as an investment. Maybe you can sell it for double the price in 5 years. By the way I must thank you. You brought Raf Simons closer to me. I have always thought him a little brother of Martin Margiela. But I am looking properly now and I see more and more things I like about the cut of his formal wear and about the graphic use of colours....and he does a brilliant job for Jill Sander too. OK, I wish you a Happy New Year, Rajmund-The Fashion Pilosopher ( that's my real name by the way- it is polish for Raymond. I am quite european. I was born in Poland, raised in Germany and I have been living in London for the last 13 years).
