Françoise Dorléac

This isn't really a fashion post, but having just re-watched Truffaut's La Peau Douce (The Soft Skin) I am slightly (re) obsessed with Françoise Dorléac, Catherine Deneuve's stunningly beautiful older sister who died in a car accident, aged 25, in 1967.

In the film, which is one of Truffaut's lesser known titles today, Dorléac plays an air hostess who starts having an affair with a famous publisher called Pierre Lachenay. The film, which is very stylishly shot, becomes quite a dark exploration of the love triangle that results, and it is very worth watching. Unfortunately the DVD version I watched had very poor subtitles, and my French is not that good, but I am so obsessed with polished 60s style (clothes, hair, architecture.. even the cars and planes in this film have a real style to them), as seen on film, particularly French films, that it didn't really matter.
