Image from Prada's fall/winter 2009 lookbook.I had a moment of madness today and bought these amazing FW09 Prada studded shoes.

Prada packaging is just spot-on, from the little Prada ribbon they put on the bags, to the stiff Prada embossed black card they put your receipt in. Hadn't bought Prada shoes for a while and they seem to have improved the boxes since then: now they're 'lined' with a similar print to the lining they use in their bags, which is a fun touch. It sounds stupid, but I feel these little things do matter, more than ever at the moment right in the middle of the recession.

At Prada Bond Streetthere was a waiting list for these, but they had a few sizes in stock in the Prada men's store-in-store in Harrods.

Dude, I love you (and your blog)! haha. Those Prada shoes rock! I'm glad you shared this moment of joy with us....as I was scrolling down the page I felt the excitement myself, lol. I, too, am jumping the gun with my F/W shopping....I may be sleeping in a cardboard box come Fall but I'll be decked out in designer :-)
ReplyDeleteThese pradas kick ass! Love the varying sizes of studs...I guess, these details is the reason for the high prices. But so worth it! Rock it:-P
ReplyDeleteI am emerald green with envy reading this post. Those shoes are perfect, and you're one of the few who could do them justice. I know I would! hahahahah I kid. Congrats on the new purchase, great choice!
ReplyDeleteha i can't believe you went for it! but i bet it felt so so good(and a tad nervy too i(ll bet). they look so good in pic, i can only wonder how good they look to pick them up. the packaging does 100% matter to me, and carrier bags etc, i guess being a student who looks and analysis these things, it makes them start to matter more. i did i project where i had to design a pair of trainers for a brand; i did raf simons x kickers, so i designs carrier/packaging/advert/the trainer ect.
ReplyDeleteil have to email it to you actually.
Nice purchase, packaging is very important is the sparkle to the excitement that you get once you get to wear them!!
ReplyDeleteI've decided to stop buying Prada shoes, i've been very unlucky with their driving shoes, their prada sport sneakers and a chelsea boot I bought 2 years ago, they last me less than 3 weeks and no matter how mad I wanna wear them my health is above!
Went to the shop once in Sloane St. just to being told by the store manager that "these shoes are just for a statement, they're not meant to last", and couldn't get a refund through Credit Consumer Act as i payed cash... not very professional of them.
Anyway very tempted by all the range of colours of the Prada group's CARSHOE driving shoes, I'm a big fan of them.
omg i think my eyes just turned green the shoes are like heave there like the kind of shoes were if they dont fit you be willing to sacrifice your toes for them
ReplyDeletei love winter the fashion in winter is much better and definately for you! with those on your feet !!

ReplyDeleteahhhh
These are amazing so thanks for sharing with all those pics. I know what that moment is like when you blow so much money on a must have item but these are the season's Prada holy grail. Its much better to feel just a wee bit guilty than it is to forever regret not buying them when you had the chance. Do enjoy!
ReplyDeleteif you're going to splurge, i think it's so smart to splurge on something as ubiquitous as prada's studded pieces for fall.
ReplyDeleteOMG Those are wonderful :D
ReplyDeletePrada is never a moment of madness.
ReplyDeleteOmg these are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the way they package stuff...

ReplyDeletehi, my name is chris and i live in australia, and have a pair of these shoes, they get so many comments when i wear them out. according to the prada store in melbourne there are only 3 pairs in australia, so it is very unlikely i will ever meet someone else wearing them, which is kinda awesome. best luxury item i have ever purchased!
