Sunday Fashion Pics

Images from The Fashion Spot.

Time for a collection of random fashion images that we liked this week. Above is 60s German supermodel Veruschka (who we remembered about when we blogged about Yoox Vintage Pucci)... she just looks so elegant, and has such poise and presence; absolutely love both these pictures (which are also both from before the days of Photoshop and retouching...)

Next up, is the Fendi bicycle. If we cycled, and if we had nearly $10,000 begging to be spent (we can dream), we'd surely buy one of these, because we've always had an ironic obsession with odd designer branded things (see also Etro shoe shine).. and who could resist that cream leather-covered water bottle?! Better/worse (more/less ridiculous?) than the Chanel bike?

Image from WWD.

Pretty sure Paul Smith has done a bike too, but he's more justified in doing so since he was going to be a racing cyclist, until he had an accident and decided to become a fashion designer instead (quite lucky, in retrospect..)

Seven New York have just got their SS09 Gareth Pugh shipment. We've already obsessed about the collection here, but we're now obsessing again, because it's just so amazing. They've got the incredible vent/grille/air conditioner dress in stock, which we haven't seen sold elsewhere, and they've also got the two tone monochrome skirt (seen before, but we reserve the right to obsess again..), the tights, trousers, a jacket, various tops, and the spectacular SHOES (we saw a woman wearing them a couple of fridays ago at The Double Club, and we could barely prevent ourselves from falling at her feet to admire them).

Loving the Whistles 'Biker' clutch bag, which is totally fierce with all its zips (and very unexpected for Whistles, which normally plays it much safer):

£150 from Whistles.co.uk.

Finally, just came across this picture of Carine Roitfeld in 2006 from The Sartorialist, which we had saved on our computer in a fashion folder, presumably because of the amazing, badass, 100% Carine, fur-backed coat she's wearing. There's something so unexpected about having a great swathe of fur down the back of a coat like that, so extravagant and unnecessary, and we love how it adds that unexpected, subversive glamour to an otherwise restrained coat. We also love it because of the whole attitude it conjures up and because it's so Carine. Love this shot too, with the angle looking at all the other photographers, who are missing the full story of the coat from where they're standing.

For the record, while we're not anti-fur, it's not the fur per se that we're praising here, it's the whole effect, which is just very cool in its subversive-sexy-chic way.. if ever there was a coat that had Carine Roitfeld's name all over..
